Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Meets with Afghan Traders and Refugees in Pakistan

The IEA's Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, while heading an accompanying delegation, met with a number of Afghan traders and refugees residing in Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Islamabad city.
In this meeting, Mr. Azizi stressed the Islamic Emirate’s inclusive support for Afghan refugees, adding that, extensive measures have been taken to facilitate voluntary return, resettlement, and improving of living conditions for returnees in Afghanistan.
He also spoke regarding the establishment of a High Commission for resolving issues faced by refugees, launching a special camp to organize and provide facilities for returning traders and industrialists, as well as tax and customs exemptions for them.
At the conclusion, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce stressed the necessity for bilateral dialogues to find appropriate solution ways regarding the deportation process of Afghanistan refugees and called for voluntary return based on UNHCR standards, which include safe, dignified, and informed return.
He also emphasized the significance of consultation and coordination with the government of Afghanistan, international donors, and regional stakeholders to support the hosting, repatriation, and reintegration process of refugees.
