Minister of Industry and Commerce: Customs can save Afghanistan from foreign Aid

KABUL-World Customs Day was celebrated in Kabul with the participation of H.E Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani Minister of Industry and Commerce, government officials and the private sector representatives.
Stressing the role of customs in Afghanistan's economic self-sufficiency, besides, customs can help the country in its economic development and eliminate the need for foreign aid, the Minister of Industry and Commerce said.
Mr. Ghoryani added, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Finance and the private sector will strive to solve the traders and industrialist’s problems in customs hereafter.
Referring to the creation of new transit and trade routes, especially the Aqina-Andkhoy, Herat-Khaf railway and the signing of the Mazar-Kabul-Peshawar railway document, the Minister of Industry and Commerce said, Afghanistan is becoming a transit-trade crossroad in the region.
At the ceremony, a number of government and private sector officials highlighted the role of customs in Afghanistan's economic development and self-sufficiency and said; If the customs problems are solved, the country won’t need foreign aid in the near future.
