Increase in chickens’ production in Balkh province

Chicken factories in Balkh province have increased their production compared to the past and produces 500,000 chickens a month.

There are currently 5 active chicken factories in Balkh province, most of which have been operating in the province for 8 years with various investments.

Broiler factories in Balkh province import the eggs needed for chicken production from Iran, Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

These factories supply and sell 40 tons of chicken meat daily to markets in Balkh and neighboring provinces, and according to statistics, Afghanistan is close to self-sufficiency in meat and egg production, and imports of these items have decreased significantly compared to previous years.
