An Inter-Ministerial Meeting was Held on Finalizing the Action Plan Submitted by Uzbekistan

The meeting was held regarding finalizing joint action plan between the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in trade, economy, and industry sectors for the years 2025–2026. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, honorable Mr. Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zahid, with participation of representatives from the respected Economic Deputy Office of the Prime Minister’s Office as well as the representatives from the ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Transport and Civil Aviation, Mines and Petroleum, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Economy, and Public Works.
During the meeting, discussions were made regarding the topics proposed by Uzbekistan trade facilitation, industrial and agricultural cooperation, logistics, transport, transit, and capacity building sectors.
In the area of trade facilitation, discussions were held on the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), the agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, the establishment of trade houses, and increasing cross-border capacity. Whereas in industrial cooperation sector, discussions were made regarding establishment of a trade and industrial cooperation center, a spinning factory, production of confectionery, spices, and processing fruits in Hairatan economic zone.
Additionally, in agriculture sector, information was exchanged regarding laboratories and developing pistachio, almond, and apple orchards in Kunduz and Balkh provinces.
Further in the meeting, it was decided that joint committees with Uzbekistan in relevant sectors would further proceed with their work in this regard.
