Afghanistan: Trade-Transit intersection of Central and South Asian countries

KABUL- H.E Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani Minister of Industry and Commerce, who delivered speech at the Chabahar Economic Association meeting said, Afghanistan with its strategic geographical location through the port of Chabahar; Can play the role of a regional intersection and a trade-transit corridor between the Central Asia and South Asia countries.
Denoting to the inauguration of Chabahar port in 2016, Mr. Ghoryani said, since then, Afghanistan traders have exported their products via this port to the region and the world and have imported a lot of consignments.
Moreover, Chabahar port plays a vital role for Afghanistan from trade-transit point of view and with the investments made in this port; will bring huge profits for the countries involved in this project.
With the inauguration of Khaf-Herat railway and the beginning of trade-transit via this railway and Chabahar port; The Central and South Asia countries are connected using Afghanistan's trade-transit corridor which expands their trade relations.
At this meeting, Mr. Bahadur Aminyan, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Political Representative of the Indian Embassy in Kabul, similarly spoke regarding the trade-transit position of Chabahar port and Afghanistan's role as a regional intersection and the expansion of trade-transit cooperation for the benefit of all countries.
The leadership of MoIC has started multilateral trade-transit talks with neighboring countries and the region to expand the level of trade relations, which has generated positive results to date.
Its noteworthy that, the 8th round of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Coordination Authority (APTTCA) committee agreement will begin in the coming weeks in Islamabad Pakistan, with the conclusion of this agreement, the level of trade-transit cooperation will increase.
